Thailand real estate

Freehold

Definition

Full and absolute ownership (as opposed to leasehold). In Thailand, only a Thai national or a foreigner via Foreign Quota in a condominium can hold a freehold. Freehold grants all owner's rights (sale, rental, mortgage, donation, succession) without time limitation. It is the title sought for long-term wealth preservation, but inaccessible to a foreigner on land outside a condominium (except via BOI 7.32 or Thai Limited company at 49%).
