Thai taxation
House Tax 12.5%
Definition
Annual tax of 12.5% of the annual rental value of a property rented out in Thailand, paid by the owner to the Tessabaan (municipality) in February–March. The rental value is assessed by the municipality—often overvalued and negotiable. House Tax does not apply if the owner occupies the property or lodges a direct family member there. For non-resident owners, House Tax is typically managed by the rental management company.
