Definition

Departure from Thai territory to reset a visa-exempt status (tourist 30 days) or extend a stay. Since 2014, Thai authorities have reduced tolerance: maximum 2 land entries per calendar year with visa-exempt status, with systematic refusal beyond that threshold. Legal solutions for 2026: Tourist Visa (TR) 60 days obtained in advance, Elite Visa or LTR, Education ED Visa, or the new Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) launched in July 2024 (5-year multiple-entry at 10,000 THB for digital nomads).
