Ko Chang, Thailand's second-largest island in Trat province, offers a niche property market built around villas, bungalows and nature plots. The west coast (White Sand Beach, Klong Prao, Kai Bae, Lonely Beach) holds most of the homes for sale and rent, from affordable bungalows to high-end sea-view villas. With most of the island protected as Mu Ko Chang National Park, buildable land is limited, which supports prices and preserves the environment. Foreign buyers typically use a 30-year renewable leasehold or a Thai company to hold land, while freehold remains possible in the rare condominium developments. The dominant profiles are expats seeking quiet, retirees and seasonal rental investors. Access is by ferry from Laem Ngop (Centrepoint), with no BTS/MRT, and Trat Airport links the area to Bangkok.
