Foreigners cannot own land freehold but commonly secure 30-year registered leaseholds or buy through structured arrangements, while a Thai spouse route remains popular. Access is via Loei town (about 50 km) and Loei Airport with daily Bangkok flights, keeping the district connected yet rural. Prices are modest compared with coastal resorts, making restored riverfront homes and small guesthouse plots attractive entry points.
